What is the Meta verified badge? Why and how can you get it? All the answers are in this article!
What is Meta Verified?
In a statement published on its blog, on Tuesday, September 19, Meta informed Facebook and Instagram users that businesses will soon be able to subscribe to the paid Meta Verified for Businesses option. This will allow them to obtain a verification badge and access various advanced tools across the group's two social networks and the instant messaging app WhatsApp.
Originally introduced in February and rolled out gradually over the summer, Meta Verified was at first reserved for individual profiles wanting to make their mark on Facebook and Instagram.
Based on the paid model of X (formerly Twitter), which created a similar offering, Meta Verified not only provides a badge confirming the account's legitimacy but also various perks such as enhanced security, priority contact with customer support, and unique stickers for Reels and Stories.
All of this is offered as a subscription, priced at 16.99 euros for a Facebook or Instagram account and 28.99 euros for both.
Why join Meta Verified?

Subscribing to Meta Verified, whether as an independent content creator or as a business, offers several advantages for Facebook and Instagram users:
Increased authenticity
Having a verified badge makes pages appear more authentic and trustworthy to other users. In the face of fake accounts that impersonate influencers, brands, or businesses for fraudulent purposes, this blue check reassures followers and encourages them to subscribe.
Enhanced security
Meta Verified provides enhanced security and proactive monitoring of verified accounts, ensuring better protection against hacking or identity theft attempts. Indeed, verified accounts benefit from active monitoring to spot fraudsters who target individuals and businesses experiencing audience growth on Facebook and Instagram.
Although Meta does not detail the mechanism of this protection, it is likely that Mark Zuckerberg's company will call on its impressive resources in artificial intelligence.
Visibility and credibility
For people who use their Facebook and Instagram communities to run an online activity, brands, or companies, having a Meta verified badge increases the visibility of their posts and strengthens their credibility in the eyes of their audience and partner brands.
Exclusive features
In addition to verification, subscribers get other exclusive features that enhance their experience on both platforms, including unique stickers for Reels and Stories, the ability to add links in Instagram Stories (without waiting for 10,000 followers), and the ability to stream live videos in higher quality.
Thanks to all the advantages mentioned above, Meta's verified badge makes it easier to interact with your community and promotes engagement as well as subscriber loyalty.
Criteria for obtaining the Meta Verified badge
To be eligible for the verified badge on Facebook and Instagram, you must meet certain criteria set by Meta. Your account must therefore be:

- Unique : there must be no similar or duplicate accounts, and the editorial line must also be unique.

Our tip for getting a verified badge on Meta
Signing up for Meta Verified does not necessarily guarantee increased reach and visibility! To benefit from all the advantages of this badge, your content must continue to comply with Facebook and Instagram rules. It is still useful to understand and adapt to how the algorithms of these two social networks work to optimize your reach.
